Plan the raised finish before the puff file.
Raised embroidery adds dimension, but it also introduces material and shape constraints. A Way7Designs 3D puff brief establishes which areas should stand proud, how the design will be placed and what information is needed from your decorator.
Mark the raised and flat areas
Supply a reference with the intended puff regions clearly identified. A design combining flat stitching with raised lettering needs those treatments distinguished in the brief. Very fine elements may require a different approach.
Start with the physical specifications
Cap structure, sewing area, foam type and finished dimensions are relevant to the requested finish. Ask your decorator for these details where possible and send any existing production reference with the artwork.
Confirm what the source can support
Bold lettering and well-defined shapes may offer more options than tightly packed detail. Suitability is assessed from the supplied design and intended scale; a puff finish should not be assumed suitable for every logo.
Use a sew-out to judge the result
Foam coverage, edges and surface appearance need to be checked using the actual materials. Send clear sample feedback before moving into a production batch.
Common questions
Does every part of a design need to use puff?
No. Your brief can request a combination of flat and raised elements, provided those areas and the intended materials are defined.
Can I approve a puff result from a screen image alone?
A preview cannot establish how the foam and fabric will behave. A physical sew-out on the intended setup is the appropriate production check.
