Vector / WAY7DESIGNS

Choose the vector file your workflow can use.

Vector artwork is useful when clean shapes and adaptable sizing matter. The file extension is only part of the decision: the document structure, fonts and application compatibility determine what the receiving team can actually edit.

Know what is inside the document

A vector container can still hold placed raster images. If the next workflow requires editable outlines, state that requirement explicitly rather than asking only for a PDF or AI filename.

Set the editing requirements

Specify the software version and the elements that need to remain separate. Text may need to stay editable or be converted to outlines; fonts, grouped shapes and layers should be discussed as part of the output scope.

Separate the source from the preview

A JPG or PNG preview helps with review and everyday viewing, while the agreed vector file serves the editing or production application. Ask for raster dimensions and transparent backgrounds where required.

Assess a raster reference before conversion

A low-resolution logo may need manual reconstruction rather than a simple format change. The redraw service reviews the reference and establishes which elements can be recreated to suit the intended output.

Common questions

Does changing a JPG filename create vector paths?

No. The image data stays raster. Editable outlines require suitable source artwork or a reconstruction process.

Which vector extension is best?

The right format depends on the receiving application and production requirements. Supply that specification so compatibility can be agreed.
